COMEDY duo the Chuckle Brothers have signed up to judge a Sheffield talent show that helps youngsters with learning difficulties.

The Y Factor - where corporate city professionals swap suits for sequins and step up to the microphone - boosts charity Mencap when it returns to the city in May.

Identical twins Francine and Nicola Gleadall, from Dronfield, who have appeared on The X Factor, are also special guest judges.

Anne Malia, area fundraiser for Mencap, said: “The Y Factor is a fantastic night of entertainment and all involved are excited to be returning to Sheffield.

“We urge people to come along and see their colleagues and contemporaries as never before.

“This is Stars in the Eyes meets the X Factor to raise vital funds for children and adults with a learning disability.”

The Y Factor returns to Crystal Bar on Carver Street on Wednesday, May 23.

Although judges make comments it is the audience that decides the winners.

The event is held in several cities across the UK and has been known to raise over £40,000 in one night for people affected by learning disability.

Nabarro LLP is one of the local businesses sponsoring the talent show and staff in the office band NOBS will provide backing for all contestants.

Partner Ben Hendry, who is in the band, said: “Events like the Y Factor provide a great opportunity for the local business community to prove their talents go beyond corporate finance activity. “We all enjoy the chance to come together and raise money for an important charity.”

Businesses DLA Piper, UK Steel Enterprise and Invested are also sponsors.
