A Sheffield animal charity is encouraging local people to turn to dogs to help them shape up in 2015.

The Sheffield branch of the Retired Greyhound Trust, based in Wortley, is urging people to adopt a canine companion to help shed pounds this January.

According to greyhound experts at the trust, an average session walking a dog can burn up to 200 calories.
