The concept of political expression through art will be explored during a three-day event in Sheffield.

Art charity Ignite Imaginations and Sheffield University’s Crick Centre are collaborating to produce the event, titled Our Corner: Art as Political Expression, which will include an art exhibition, daily workshops and evening open mic sessions.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm from tomorrow until Sunday at Bank Street Arts, on Bank Street in the city centre.

It will showcase the work of 15 artists who have responded creatively to the exhibition themes of discrimination, inequality and sense of place.

The artwork includes film screenings, installations, photography and paintings.

The workshops will run daily from 2pm to 4pm. In the evenings, the space will host three curated open mic nights from 7.30pm.
