BAGPIPES and marching soldiers will be on the streets before attending a Burns Night celebration to raise funds for troops wounded in Afghanistan.
The Marching Band of the Scots Guards are visiting Rotherham on Saturday, January 21.
A march will begin at 11.30am from Rotherham Town Hall before a performance in All Saints’ Square at noon.
In the evening there will be a Gala Burns Night celebration at Magna Science Adventure Centre with music, food and dance.
Funds raised will be shared between the Scots Guards Colonel Fund, which supports soldiers returning from conflict areas such as Afghanistan, and PHASE Worldwide, which works in remote areas of the Nepalese Himalayas including Gorkha, home of the Gurkha soldiers.
