ROTHERHAM is set to welcome the Royal Shakespeare Company in the autumn with performances of Hamlet at Wickersley, Wales and Winterhill schools.
The visit is part of a national tour and will also include two public performances at the Magna Science and Adventure Centre on October 7 and 8.
The tour heralds a new way of reaching audiences who may not normally have access to the RSC’s work.
In schools the daytime performances will be for pupils, with evening performances aimed at their families and the local community. In the theatre venues, tickets will be available for the general public.
It will be a 70-minute adaptation of the play using the original text.
