There have got to be worse jobs out there...

Rotherham Real Ale and Music Festival organisers are searching for last minute volunteers in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

This year’s festival at Magna has a Roman theme, 40 musical performances and 12,000 visitors, all expected to attend between March 5 and 8.

Extra volunteers are needed to cope with demand and look after all areas of the event including working the pumps, running the bars, helping bands and selling tickets.

Organiser Stephen Burns said: “Without the hundreds of volunteers who give up their spare time, it would be impossible for the festival to take place. We’re already seeing ticket sales increasing, and I’d like to appeal urgently to anyone who feels they can lend a hand to come forward, even if just for one evening.”

n Email volunteer@magnarealale.co.uk. Volunteers get free festival entry, a glass, a meal and a T-shirt.
