THE Sheffield office of firm PwC showed their support for St Luke’s Hospice when they took to the streets for the Sheffield Half Marathon in memory of colleague Rob Boddye.
Rob, a long-serving director in the PwC Assurance pensions team, was a St Luke’s patient who died at the end of 2011 after fighting brain cancer for more than two years.
Twenty runners from the firm’s city centre office signed up for the half marathon and raised £3,000 to add to the £5,600 they have already raised through other fundraising events.
David Thurkettle, director at PwC’s Sheffield office, said: “We ran the half marathon in memory of a great friend and colleague. We’re pleased so many people dug deep to help support the hospice. The funding will help St Luke’s Hospice provide even more specialised care to people who truly need it.”
