A TEENAGER is putting her best foot forward for charity in memory of a football-loving friend.

Sheffield College student Paige Salt, aged 17, has organised a football-inspired fundraising walk as a tribute to late Sheffield Wednesday fan Kyle Hancock.

Wannabe sports journalist Kyle, of Hope Valley, Derbyshire was found dead in his student halls at the University of Creative Arts in Farnham, Surrey in October.

The 18-year-old had died from sudden adult death syndrome.

His pal Paige, of Fulwood, Sheffield, is walking from Hillsborough – the home of Kyle’s beloved the Owls – to Bramall Lane, the home of cross-city rivals Sheffield United, and back to raise money for charity Cardiac Risk in the Young.

Paige said: “People remember the story of footballer Fabrice Muamba, he was lucky.

“Kyle was not so and I don’t want his death to be a waste of a young life.”

The walk takes place on Saturday, July 21.
