SHE’S got the best body in the Universe - naturally.
Introducing Rachael Hayes, winner of the first ever Drug Free Athletes Coalition Miss Universe Athletic. As you can see she’s in pretty good shape - especially when you consider she’s in her mid-40s.
Mum-of-one Rachael, from Wales, near Sheffield, travelled to New Jersey USA to take part in a worldwide natural bodybuilding competition and blew the opposition away.
But the champagne is still on ice as Rachael is now preparing for a trip back to the States to compete in the World Championships in Miami next month. And the word is out that she’s the athlete to beat.
Rachael, a business manager for South Yorkshire Police, has been competing as a natural or drug free, bodybuilder since 1997. Now aged 44, she won the British Amateur title in 2004 and was awarded professional status.
Although she has finished in the money on a few occasions since 2004 this is her first title win. And Rachael credits much of her success down to her coach - husband Jon Clark who owns and runs Evolution Gym in Westfield,
“Jon is a world champion himself and he drives me pretty hard, sometimes I think he’s picking on me.
“But it seems to work - and when it comes to his training I’m just as hard on him.”
The couple are currently the only Professional Natural Bodybuilding husband and wife team in the UK.
This year the couple have judged at numerous British Natural Bodybuilding Federation shows.
Rachael has also hosted the British Finals and performed a guest spot at the DFAC Florida State Natural Championship, the first natural GB athlete to do so.
