LAUGHS aplenty are promised when a Sheffield theatre launches a new comedy club.

The Tickled Rib Comedy Club starts at the Lantern Theatre in Sharrow on April 21 at 8pm, and is set to offer a monthly bill of up-and-coming comics and established acts.

Television regular Junior Simpson will be appearing on the first night, fresh from stints on Never Mind The Buzzcocks and The Stand-Up Show.

Other acts include Australian Sully O’Sullivan and Canadian physical comedian Wes Zaharuk.

In July the venue is also hosting previews by stand-ups heading for the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, such as former Neighbours actor Mark Little and Steve Shanyaski.

All tickets cost £10. To book visit www.lanterntheatre.org or call 0114 255 1776.
