A GROUP of musicians have had to call in a substitute after a cellist injured herself on ice before a Doncaster show.

Ensemble 360 cellist Gemma Rosefield fell on ice two weeks ago, spraining her wrist, and so she will not be able to play in the orchestra’s performance of The Chimpanzees of Happytown tomorrow.

A spokesman said: “We’re delighted that Bernard Gregor-Smith, of Lindsay Quartet fame, will be stepping in.”

The show is aimed at children aged two to seven and is at 3pm at Priory Place Methodist Church.

Organisers say the show involves lots of audience participation.
