Dearne Valley Ramblers, SUN 24 OCT. 10am. Youlgreave Circular Walk, 7 miles graded easy to moderate. Meet near to George Hotel, Main Street, Youlgreave, where limited free road parking is available, post code DE45 1UW.

Norfolk Arms Ringinglow Walking Group: FRI 22 SEPT. Bronte Walk near Hathersage. Stanage and North Lees are included in the quite difficult 4.5 mile walk. Meet in the pub at 9.00 to register and for tea/coffee. Expect amazing views and some fascinating Bronte-related history on this walk. We’ll take in Catiss-side Moor and a section of Stanage Edge, before climbing up to North Lees Hall, a regular writing hideaway of Charlotte Brontë. Please note: this is a fairly strenuous route with some steep climbs, rocky ground and bogs. Please wear sturdy footwear! There’s no need to book in advance, just join us on the day. TUES 26 SEPT. SUMMER WALKS BY TRAIN, Walkers are being invited to discover the South and West Yorkshire countryside using public transport over the summer on a series of eleven railway rambles with the Penistone Line Partnership. Most walks follow public rights of way between stations along the Penistone Line linking Sheffield, Barnsley, Penistone and Huddersfield and all are accessible by departing from SHEFFIELD and MEADOWHALL stations on Saturdays.
