Ringinglow Walks Christmas Party: SUN 4 DEC. 6:00pm. This year’s Christmas Party takes place on the evening of Sunday 4th December and everybody is welcome to join us! We’ll be enjoying a two or three course meal from The Norfolk Arms’ special Festive Menu and some seasonal entertainment from “Santa” Steve Murfitt. (Be warned: there is a slight possibility that the bingo machine may be making a comeback..!). Who’s Invited? Sheffield Shamblers, SUN 4 DEC. Monsal Head, the starting point of this walk, is a famous viewpoint overlooking Monsal Dale and the viaduct which carries the Trail, the first section of our walk. At the end of the trail the route passes through the old mill village of Cressbrook then down the picturesque limestone dale of Cressbrook passing Peter’s Stone. After crossing the A623 the walk follows field paths and lanes to Foolow, which is where we take our lunch stop. The return route follows well-defined paths across fields and Longstone Moor. This is a 8.5 mile walk. Start time: 10.00am. Parking: P&D car park at Monsal Head, or wherever you can on the surrounding roadsides. Meeting Point: In front of Monsal Head Hotel. This is a 3 to 4 mile walk and will take approx 1.5 hrs. If you have never walked with a group before and want to get a feel of what its like before progressing on to our more challenging walks, then these are a good place to start without it taking too much of your time up.
