SOME of South Yorkshire’s best beers will be on offer at a fundraising festival.
Real ales brewed in Sheffield and Barnsley are set to be the toast of the Lions Beer Festival, which takes place in Penistone on Friday, January 26 and Saturday, January 27.
St John’s Church hall in Market Place will open its doors from 7pm until 11pm each night with a programme of ale, hymns and pie and peas. Most ales on offer come from within 10 miles of Penistone.
Money raised from the event will be donated to Hollybank Trust, which tries to improve the quality of life of adults with profound disabilities in Yorkshire.
Admission is £5. For more information, or to sponsor a beer barrel, call 01484 863264.
