Pupils launch film project

TEN pupils from Sheffield’s King Edward VII School have created a documentary film exploring higher education, identity and aspirations.

The film entitled We Are Here was launched at the Showroom Cinema alongside a screening of Mama Africa, a film about South African singer Miriam Makeba.

The film was made by the school’s Black Pupils’ Achievement Group and includes footage of interviews with staff and students at Sheffield University. The theme is boosting aspirations among minority ethnic groups.
