PUPILS from a Derbyshire college worked against the clock to create a faithful copy of THAT dress.

A team of four youngsters from Mount St Mary’s College at Spinkhill had their eyes glued to the TV at 11am on Friday when the nation finally caught its first glimpse of Kate Middleton’s wedding gown.

Led by the school’s head of art Penny Woodhouse, the pupils began with a sketch and then set to work with fabric, lace and ribbon to recreate Sarah Burton’s exquisite creation.

The dress, plus tiara, bouquet and ring, had to be completed by 3pm for an event in the college chapel featuring pupil Holly Band as Kate - which left not a dry eye in the house.
