THE Star got in on the act when Super Size Me film-maker Morgan Spurlock launched this year’s Sheffield DocFest with his new documentary – about the world of product placement.

POM Wonderful Presents: The Greatest Movie Ever Sold was financed to the tune of $1.5 million by product placement, advertising and sponsorship.

Spurlock jumped at the chance to read The Star for this press shot as he laughed: “I’ve not sold out – I’m buying in.’

“The biggest intention of the film is to wake people up to the idea of marketing and advertising. We live in a time where we become so blinded to the amount of messaging in our everyday lives that we don’t even recognise it.’’

Sheffield Doc/Fest will this year pack 120 films and 70 sessions into five days, at The Showroom, until Sunday.
