GOOD morning campers. Sheffield’s Abbeydale Picture House is preparing to transport audiences back in time to the summer of 1951 with a production of Hi-De-Hi.

Inspired by the popular BBC sitcom, the show will follow the lives of yellow-coat entertainers a the fictional Maplin’s camp.

The future of the picture house is uncertain due to funding issues, but director Ben Miller has vowed the show must go on.

He said: “After a year of planning we are determined to carry on with the production.

“It would be a tragedy to lose such an iconic building surrounded by fond memories.”
