WEST Bar police station in Sheffield city centre will close its doors at the end of March when staff relocate to Snig Hill.
South Yorkshire Police bosses have decided the aging tower block on West Bar needs too much money spent to bring it up to modern standards.
Now police officers and civilian staff are relocating to the force headquarters on Snig Hill instead.
The sale of West Bar has been agreed and a developer has been granted planning permission to build a new hotel on the site.
But because Snig Hill will now have more people working there bosses are looking for a new site for the force headquarters and discussions are under way with a number of landowners across the county.
West Bar is due to close on March 31.
