Performing arts students at Barnsley College were given some expert tips before taking to the stage with their latest production - by the author himself.
Playwright Peter Gordon talked to the youngsters about the characters and plotline of his popular work Murdered to Death.
Peter was originally contacted by student Josh Barker, who emailed him to ask questions about his own character.
Instead Peter offered to come and talk to the class, and travelled from York to speak to the students about how the play had come together.
Josh, of Whinmoor Road, High Green, said: “I was amazed when Peter contacted me - it was a real boost to my confidence. It’s been really helpful speaking to him.”
Peter added: “It was great to be contacted by Josh about the play and it’s been a pleasure to come in and talk to the students.
“I used to be a lecturer so I know that it’s nice when someone from industry comes in to talk to students.”
