KIDS in Chesterfield will be able to play to their hearts’ content following the official opening of a new £63,000 recreation area.
A new playground and game of petanque piste - a continental form of bowls - has been unveiled at Holmebrook Valley Park, and the facility has been designed to be used by youngsters with a range of disabilities.
The site was opened by the Mayor and Mayoress of Chesterfield, Councillors Diane and Donald Parsons, and Coun Chris Ludlow.
Coun Parsons said the unveiling of the playground was ‘the culmination of 10 months’ hard work’.
“This eagerly awaited and much-needed project will provide a safe and fun play environment for children and young people of all abilities for many years to come,” he added.
