All the fun of the fair met exotic food and music as the Darnall Carnival returned.
The wet weather meant it was a slow start to the event at High Hazels Park on Saturday.
But the crowds started to pour in once the weather dried up and organisers hailed it a success.
Attractions included an array of music and dance artists with performances by some of the UK’s leading Bhangra music artists, as well as circus workshops, crafts and food stalls.
The event was organised by the Friends of High Hazels Park with the support of Darnall Forum.
Mothiur Rothman, chairman of the forum, said: “Overall it has been a good success. The weather put people off coming early but by 3.30pm it was packed.
“The live entertainment went down really well and we also had clothes shops, jewellery shops and food stalls.
“We try to put it on every year not just for the Darnall community but also for othe neighbourhoods to come and enjoy time with their family.”
Funding for the carnival came from a variety of sources including Sheffield Town Trust, J G Graves’ Charitable Trust and Darnall Area Trust.
