SOUTH Yorkswhire’s pop star of the moment Louis Tomlinson is keeping his fingers crossed today.
His group One Direction are hoping to notch up their second number one after releasing their second single.
He said: “We’re so nervous - we are so determined to get another number one but it’s not going to be easy.
“We really want Gotta Be You to be number one.”
Louis’s group One Direction gave their public profile a boost last night with an appearance on the Children In Need, broadcast on BBC1.
His Doncaster family have already bought the record and mum Johannah said they would be keeping their fingers crossed too, although the recording was up against big name Rihanna as well as the official Children In Need single for the top spot.
The family were not able to go and see Louis perform last night - and Johannah, a midwife at the Doncaster Royal Infirmary, was rostered to work during the show.
She planned to sneak a look at her boy’s performance with the patients on the wards - unless there were any babies being born at the time.
She said: “I think performing on Children In Need is the biggest thing they’ve done other than the X Factor.
“I have told all my patients and they were really surprised. They wanted to watch with me.
“The rest of the family are going to be watching at home.”
Louis, from Bessacarr, and his group were among the runners-up on the X Factor last year but have already had a number one with their first single, What Makes You Beautiful.
