A SHEFFIELD Hallam University professor’s novel, which depicts a world threatened by biological terrorism, has been shortlisted for a third literary award.

Jane Rogers, professor of writing on the institution’s post-graduate writing course, has been shortlisted for the Portico Prize 2012, for science fiction novel The Testament of Jessie Lamb.

Jane, who taught author and former Sheffield Hallam lecturer Marina Lewycka, also won the Arthur C Clarke Award 2012 for the book, which was long-listed for the Man Booker Prize in 2011.
