A PROPOSAL to extend car parking at a booming railway station is set for rejection by North East Derbyshire District Council.

Dronfield Town Council had asked the district council not to allow the continued use of the former goods yard at Dronfield railway station, but to use the site for an extension to the station car park. Extended train services had led to a massive increase in the use of the railway station, causing parking problems for passengers’ cars.
