Have your say

DROP-in sessions are being held across Rotherham this month for serving and former armed forces personnel.

On the next three Tuesdays Rotherham Council is holding informal drop-ins for the armed forces between noon and 2pm at the Unity Centre, St Leonard’s Road. The aim is to give people the chance to chat and share experiences, and find out about the Armed Forces Community Covenant, which Rotherham Council signed in January.

Take a park stroll

PULL on your walking boots for a healthy stroll around Poolsbrook Country Park.

Park rangers will lead two gentle walks giving people the chance to learn about the history and nature of the area.

The one-and-a-half hour walks take place on July 25 and August 29, at 10.30am from the pavilion. To book call 01246 474 967.

Vote for gardens

OASIS Community Centre and Gardens in Worksop is appealing for public votes in the semi-finals of The National Lottery Awards.

The facility has turned a derelict youth club into a community centre, and an abandoned field into gardens on the Kilton Estate. Voting ends on July 22 - log on to www.lotterygoodcauses.org.uk/awards.
