NEWS IN BRIEF: Bishop to watch as people confirmed

Have your say

ST MARK’S Church in Mosborough, Sheffield, is holding a confirmation service for 18 people.

The event takes place on Sunday, September 9, and will be attended by the Bishop of Doncaster, Rev Peter Burrows. The church is also holding its Community Harvest Open Weekend and Flower Festival at the end of the month, with a supper on September 29 at the Joseph Stone Centre and a service of thanksgiving in church on September 30 at 10am.

No Sunday roast?

SUNDAY is South Yorkshire’s preferred day of rest when it comes to cooking, a survey has revealed. An online study found people in the area love to cook, but not on the seventh day of the week. Weekday evenings emerged as the most popular time for cooking at home, followed by Saturday nights.

Breathe for peace

A BUDDHIST centre is offering masterclasses in de-stressing and relaxation. The Gyaltsabje Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Hunters Bar, Sheffield, is hosting a half-day course on guided breathing designed to bring inner peace and improve wellbeing on Saturday, September 8 at 10am. The course costs £10.
