A SEASIDE spectacle in Sheffield’s city centre has been extended due to popular demand.
The annual Sheffield by the Seaside will run in the Peace Gardens and outside the Town Hall until Thursday, August 30, after council bosses agreed to allow the event to stay an extra few days. Organisers Farrar’s Funfairs were originally due to pack up this Saturday.
William Percival, boss of Farrar’s, said: “It has been really popular and people have been asking if it can stay until the end of the school holidays, so the council have agreed to let us remain until Thursday.”
Sheffield by the Seaside is open from 10am until 6pm each day.
Footpath to close
A FOOTPATH is to be temporarily closed in Low View, Dodworth, Barnsley. Dodworth residents are reminded the footpath will be closed between the rear of houses 2 to 6 for a week from Monday, September 3, to allow an electric service to be installed. Northern Powergrid will be carrying out the work.
