The annual St Luke’s Hospice Service of Celebration and Remembrance at Christmas is on the move.
As work on the refurbishment of Sheffield Cathedral continues, the event will be held at the Cutlers’ Hall on December 8 at 2.30pm. Taking part will be Sheffield High School Choir, Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus and Stannington Brass Band.
“For many people each year, Christmas is a time of immense happiness but also tinged with sadness as they remember relatives and friends who have been part of past celebrations,” said St Luke’s Chaplain and Spiritual Care Co-ordinator, the Rev Captain Mike Reeder.
“St Luke’s service gives many an opportunity to give thanks for those people and to remember them in an act of remembrance, all set within well known carols and readings.
“Many people say this service is the beginning of Christmas for them.”
