FAIRIES, fantasy figures and magicians are just the trick at a spellbinding free family exhibition in Sheffield.
Star attractions include replicas of the broomstick used by Harry Potter in the films and of Frodo’s sword from the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
Illusions have been conjured up including photos taken from the Cottingley fairy collection which captured public imagination in 1917.
A prop which magicians use to cut their assistants in three even reveals top secrets used on stage.
The exhibition, which opens at Weston Park Museum tomorrow until next year, has been created by the V&A Museum of Childhood.
Teresa Whittaker, senior exhibition curator at Museums Sheffield, said: “Magic Worlds is a real celebration of our fascination with all things magical.”
