A CELEBRATION of the wealth of different voices and dialects in British folk song is being held by Sheffield University.
The Sing-Folk-Speak event will take place on Sunday, June 24.
Dave Burland, who has recorded a number of seminal folk albums since the 1970s, and Dr Fay Hield from the University of Sheffield, will perform songs from across the country and share their thoughts on the role that dialect has played in music.
They will be joined by experts in folklore and folk music from the university.
The musical event is being held between 1pm and 3pm at The Rude Shipyard, 89 Abbeydale Road. Admission is free. Contact email@example.com for more details.
