FINNINGLEY’S MP has spoken of her delight at Robin Hood Airport becoming the summer home of the last flying Vulcan bomber this summer.
The aircraft, run by the charity Vulcan to the Sky Trust, arrived at the airport last week.
Don Valley MP Caroline Flint said: “This is great news for Robin Hood Airport and for the many people who remember Robin Hood Airport’s historic role in UK aviation.”
Talks are ongoing to try to keep the plane in Doncaster.
The charity is currently trying to raise cash to keep the aircraft, which was based at RAF Finningley in the 1960s, in the air.
