MP launches youth centre

A NEW youth centre has opened on a Sheffield housing estate with a celebration event which included presentation of certificates to young people who have volunteered in the area.

The Spires Centre, on East Bank Road, has been developed in an old community building by The Miracle Trust and Sheffield Council.

Guest of honour at the launch event was Heeley Labour MP Meg Munn, who opened the centre and presented the certificates.

She said: "I am amazed by these young people. They have, together, volunteered nearly 6,000 hours of service in the last 18 months."
