A new campaign to find most foster carers in Rotherham has been launched.
Councillor Gordon Watson, the council’s Deputy Leader, said: “Our foster carers provide warm, loving family homes in the heart of the community.
“They help our children stay close to the things that matter like family, friends and school.”
There is particular demand for foster carers for sibling groups and children over eight years old.
Coun Watson added: “We want as many children as possible to be able to experience being raised in a loving home as we know this results in better outcomes for our young people and enables them to reach their full potential.
“I would encourage anyone who is considering becoming a foster carer to get in touch with Rotherham Fostering Services to discuss their options.”
Foster carer Emma Darby, said: “We were quite shocked to read that, due to the shortage of foster carers, some brothers and sisters are separated. We know that this can only add to the trauma that the children have already been through and we knew we had to help.”
