IT’S set to be one of the biggest events of the summer - and organisers of Sheffield Pride whetted appetites for the big day with a fun taster event on Fargate.

The celebration of the city’s diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community is to be held in Endcliffe Park on July 16.

The Mini-Pride in the city centre was designed to raise awareness for the event and featured DJs and entertainment provided by Plug.

There were also giveaways, fun family games and face painting, as well as a chance to raise funds to help keep the event free and inclusive.

Committee member Neari Kitterringham said: “Mini-Pride was an important opportunity to reach out to Sheffielders and the wider community in South Yorkshire and encourage them to take part.”

The July event will be a carnival day packed with activities, games. entertainment and music.
