HANDEL’S Messiah will return to Sheffield City Hall this month.
The concert – which celebrates the life of Christ, from his birth right up to his resurrection – will feature stunning arias and choral numbers, including the legendary Hallelujah Chorus.
The musical experience, directed by Darius Battiwalla, features Manchester Camerata and Sheffield Philharmonic Chorus.
A spokesman for Sheffield City Hall said: “It’s been five years since Messiah was last performed at the City Hall and it makes for a perfect Christmas curtain-raiser.
“It never fails to touch and thrill audiences.”
The Messiah has been reinvented and performed frequently in the two-and-a-half centuries since its composition.
Messiah will be at Sheffield City Hall on December 15 in the Irwin Mitchell Oval Hall.
