THREE men who admitted conspiring to organise a sham marriage at Sheffield Register Office have been warned they face jail.
The groom, Pakistani national Sajid Mehmood, 36, of Cresswell Road, Darnall, Sheffield and Slovakians Gizar Demeter, 35, of Ligate Terrace, Bradford, and Milan Benak, 38, of Brooks Bank Avenue, also in Bradford, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday.
The men all admitted one count of conspiring to obtain leave in the UK by deception.
The charge relates to an alleged sham marriage which was thwarted by the authorities in July.
Ahmed Subhani, 32, of Chester Avenue, Luton, admitted the charge at an earlier hearing, while the bride, Slovakian, Barbora Vilckova, 35, of Brooks Bank Avenue, Bradford, is yet to enter a plea.
Judge Graham Robinson adjourned the case so pre-sentence reports could be prepared and warned the men all sentencing options were open.
They will reappear in court at the end of the month.
