A TOP Sheffield business representative has been lined up to open a new lounge for First Class passengers at the city's railway station.
Master Cutler Professor Bill Speirs will launch the facility on Tuesday.
It has been created on platform 5 as part of an ongoing revamp of the station by operator East Midlands Trains, which has also included refurbishment of standard class waiting rooms, new toilets and better CCTV security cameras.
Passengers will benefit from complimentary refreshments, newspapers and WiFi internet access. The lounge will open every weekday from 6am until 12.30am and is similar to the company's other lounges on the route.
On the day Sheffield's new lounge opens, representatives from some of the region's key businesses will also be joining Master Cutler Prof Speirs on a special train trip to London.
Senior representatives from Barnsley & Rotherham Chamber, Sheffield Forgemasters, Davy Markham, Lloyds Banking Group and Nabarro LLP have been invited on the early morning Master Cutler train from Sheffield to London, where they will attend a launch event for the Global Manufacturing Festival. The festival will take place in Sheffield in March.
