Up to 9,000 pints are being pulled at three bars, in the Upper Hall, the Millowners and a marquee. A selection of continental bottled beers, traditional cider and perry are available, alongside a host of pale ales, bitters, milds, stouts and porters.

There is another full day of entertainment today including a charity pub quiz and an evening of R’n’B music.

The festival, organised by Sheffield Campaign for Real Ale, is now its 40th year and moved to its new home for the first time this year. Previous festivals have been held in Ponds Forge and at Cemetery Park in Sharrow.

Sheffield Brewery has brewed a special beer called Ruby Ruby Ruby to celebrate the festival’s anniversary.
