Liza Minnelli’s appearance at Sheffield City Hall next week has been cancelled.

The performer, who won an Oscar for her role in the musical Cabaret, was due to sing and be interviewed on stage next Tuesday as part of a show billed as ‘An Intimate Evening with Liza Minnelli’.

A date at the London Palladium next week has also been called off. A further show in Glasgow had already been pulled.

“We have been advised by the promoters of An Evening with Liza Minelli that the performance has been cancelled,” said a Palladium spokesperson. “All tickets will be refunded.”

A City Hall spokesman said the venue was awaiting confirmation from the promoter before issuing details of refunds for Sheffield tickets.

The show had been organised by Rocco Buonvino, who put on a similar event featuring Sylvester Stallone at the hall earlier this year.

Reports online suggested the shows were cancelled because of a dispute over money.
