A LANTERN parade is set to light up the grounds of an historic Derbyshire castle.
Bolsover Castle will play host to the annual event on Saturday, marking the start of its festive celebrations. Local schoolchildren have been busy making laterns ready for the procession, which starts at the castle at 4.30pm then travels around the medieval town.
As part of the fun, owner English Heritage is challenging children to take part in a special treasure trail for the chance to win prizes.
Keith Holland, manager at Bolsover Castle, “The Lantern Parade marks the start of our festive events. Throughout December and into the first weekend of the New Year, children can take part in the festive family fun trail.”
Entry is free to Bolsover residents.
