A DONCASTER singing sensation has wowed judges to make it through to the semi final of the Open Mic UK competition - after success in the regional showcase.

Kim Brodie, aged 25, from Askern is one of five acts which have been whittled down from thousands of unsigned artists from the across the country.

A former Miss Doncaster, Kim, known as Kim B, performed Black Heart by Stooshe and Wings by LittleMix in front of a live audience and professional judging panel at Dewsbury Town Hall.

She will now perform at the area final on November 24 for the chance to progress to the national grand final at The O2 in London in January. There are over £50,000 in prizes up for grabs. And this is a far cry from her day job working behind the counter at a post office, although she has been singing professionally for several years, performing in clubs, holiday parks and military bases.

Tickets to watch the area final are £9 available via Facebook www.facebook.com/kim.brodie.393
