Famous face Isla St Clair - known to millions for her television appearances with Larry Grayson on the BBC’s Generation Game – is to headline the Rotherham Folk and Jazz weekend at Rotherham Show on Saturday and Sunday September 6 and 7.
Scottish born Isla is also one of Britain’s foremost traditional country singers, and will be the final act of the afternoon on the Saturday, ‘folk day’, which starts at 1pm. Acoustic blues guitarist Sunjay Bryne and The Nick Rooke Band complete the day’s line-up.
On Sunday at 1pm the sounds of the 17-piece South Yorkshire based Colin Yates Big Band will kickstart ‘jazz day’, followed by fiddler Robin Garside, Gypsy Djam, and The Wendy Kirkland Trio.
All the music takes place in the Music Marquee of the Rotherham Show which runs throughout the weekend.
Clifton Park will be transformed with entertainment for the whole family including a vintage vehicle rally, a fairground, hundreds of stalls to browse, a dog show, a fresh produce and craft quarter, a hamster show, the Rother FM motor village and main arena, and a horticultural show.
