Hunt on for volunteers to expand Sheffield sports project

A hunt is on for volunteers who are keen to work as sport leaders for Sheffield’s expanding programme of Street Games.

Drop-in sessions are being held at Star House on Division Street on Tuesdays from 11am until 12.30pm or on Thursdays from 1pm until 2.30pm.

Street Games is a charity that was inspired by the success of the Olympics in 2012.

The club offers free weekly sports sessions at youth clubs across Sheffield - with young people getting to choose which sports they actually want to play.

In Heeley sessions range from BMXing and extreme sports at Onboard Skate Park, to basketball and football.

The scheme also operates in Broomhall, Burngreave, Page Hall, Woodthorpe, Tinsley, Stocksbridge and High Green.
