A DONCASTER hospice team won a charity football match played by pub regulars.
The match, played by locals at the Wheatsheaf in Auckley, raised £200 for St John’s Hospice, Balby, by pairing the pub’s team and the Wheatley All Stars.
Wheatsheaf landlady Donna Haywood and football club secretary Jeff Mawdsley presented the hospice with a cheque.
Jeff said: “It was a fantastic day and everyone really enjoyed the game. Following a great performance by both teams the Wheatsheaf came out on top, winning by 8-2.”
