THE Peak District’s Hope Valley is set to be illuminated by hundreds of lights on Saturday night as part of a special art installation.
The artwork, by Charles Monkhouse, is called Meander, and will stretch for miles starting from Surprise View in Hathersage.
Up to 200 individual lights will be placed in fields and hillsides, recreating an early form of the River Derwent when it reached above the current valley bottom.
Charles lives and works in the Peak District, and created the installation for re:place – a two-year Derbyshire arts programme.
The valley will be lit up from 6pm to 10pm.
Visit www.nightstations.co.uk on the day to confirm the installation is in place.
