Have your say

as DIAMOND Jubilee celebrations get under way - we want your help to find the Queen of Sheffield.

The Star, together with Meadowhall shopping centre, is looking for the real jewel in the community’s crown.

Are you, or do you know, a woman of inspiration - a true diamond who puts the sparkle into South Yorkshire?

The aim is to honour someone who has dedicated her life to helping others. It may be a woman who has not necessarily received the recognition she deserves.

A shortlist of nominations will feature in The Star and online at thestar.co.uk - then readers will pick our outright winner.

And the Queen Of Sheffield will celebrate in right royal style.

She will be crowned at Meadowhall on Friday, June 29, at 10am - and then receive ‘the keys to the malls’ where she will be treated like royalty for the whole day long.

The prize includes a glamorous makeover, a meal at Las Iguanas restaurant, and a year’s subscription to The Star.

Meadowhall centre director Darren Pearce said: “We’re searching for someone who makes a real difference to the lives of people around them.

“We want to find an unsung heroine who deserves to be recognised at last for the contribution they’ve made to local causes, the community and to the region in general.

“So many women in South Yorkshire dedicate their lives to helping others, and we want to thank them for their hard work and reward them.”

If you know someone who deserves to be crowned Queen of Sheffield, fill in and return the nomination form here.

You can attach a separate sheet to include reasons for your nomination - but you must include your nominee’s full details at the top of the sheet.

Nominees must be aged 18 or over and be happy to be featured in all publicity. They must also be available to attend Meadowhall on Friday, June 29, at 10am.

The nomination form, with links to enter online, are available at thestar.co.uk

When completed, drop it into the special nomination box at the entrance to the Oasis Dining Quarter, or post it to Queen Of Sheffield, Management Suite, 1 The Oasis, Meadowhall Centre, Sheffield S9 1EP. Alternatively entries can be emailed to marketing@meadowhall.co.uk

Deadline for entries is next Friday, June 15, 2012. SNL and Meadowhall terms and conditions, plus data protection policies, apply. See entry form and copies on request.
