LUMINOUS balls and lit fairways will help Sheffield golfers play during a charity night for Help A Child Have A Chance.

The game will play out in the dark on Thursday at Beauchief Golf Course on Abbey Lane, Sheffield with eight holes followed by a hot dinner.

Help A Child Have A Chance was set up in memory of broadcaster and fundraiser Dave Kilner who died in 2009. Dave raised hundreds of thousands of pounds in aid of sick and needy children in South Yorkshire and the north Midlands.

The charity is now run by Dave’s wife Shirley, their two daughters Rebecca and Nicola and two trustees, who all wanted to carry Dave’s legacy on.

Shirley, from Whirlow, Sheffield, said: “The Night Golf is going to be a really fun night and a different way to raise money.”

It costs £100 to enter a team of four players, and businesses can sponsor a hole. To enter call Shirley on 07507 600146.
