MEADOWHALL'S giftcards seem destined for the chop after another loyal customer was hit with surprise charges.
Corina Carder, aged 60, of Millstone Drive, Aston, had a load of vouchers after her 60th birthday, ruby wedding and retirement.
She went into Hinds to buy a gold watch. But the assistant said one of the 50 vouchers was only worth 46.
A year after purchase, Meadowhall imposes a 2-a-month 'account maintenance fee'
Corina said: "At the end of the day, they are taking my money.
"It says on the front it expires in 2012, why should there be any deductions?
"I have bought and received quite a few giftcards over the years, I always thought they were a good idea, because you can use them in any shop. But I will never buy any more after this."
A MEADOWHALL spokesman said: "We are re-assessing our giftcard terms and conditions and there are plans to make changes during 2011."
