A UNIQUE film will showcase Sheffield’s connection with the rest of the world.
The specially-created animation, part of the Festival of the Mind from September 20 to 30, will show viewers how the city is ‘better connected today than it ever has been’.
A City in Context will be premiered in a 1920s cabaret-style Spiegeltent – a travelling tent decorated with mirrors and stained glass – in Barker’s Pool on Tuesday, September 25.
Professor Danny Dorling, a University of Sheffield don and film researcher, said: “Sheffield is in touch with the rest of the world more now than it’s ever been. We are trying to show the connections between global geography and local geography.”
The film begins by showing where thousands of overseas students come to Sheffield from. The screening takes place at 4.30pm.
